When the separating gel and the coagulated blood are centrifuged in the same test tube, generally the specific gravity of serum is about 1.02, that of the blood clot is about 1.08, and the specific gravity of the separating gel is maintained at about 1.05. Under the action of centrifugal force, the separating gel forms a gel-like isolation layer between the serum and the blood clot to separate the serum and the blood clot. Thus, the yield of serum is increased, and the serum is preserved in its original state, simplifying the clinical testing process and improving work efficiency.
